I have a Aussie 4 speed on my FC with the clutch slave cylinder my problem is that the shaft that comes out of the slave has to be on an angle to fit in the hole on the gear box fork arm is this normal

Should be parallel to slave cylinder bore. Been a long time but vaguely recall drilling a fresh hole on the lever maybe. I had a cast iron adapter bracket which snapped and  I replaced with a cast aluminium Hadfield one. It kept the slave fairly close to the bell housing. A picture would help.
