H there,

Just purchased this awesome FC from a very nice seller in QLD. Car has 49k original miles, original paint, trim etc and a lot of documented history.
Thought I`d share some pics ( these are the sellers pics as mine don't do it justice ). Can`t wait to get it on the road. Cars back home in NSW.
Cheers

Looks to be in amazing condition. Is that it's original paint, or it is restored?
Does your documentation go back to the original owner?

Regards.   Ken

Very nice find, I think I passed it on the back of a tow truck the other day around Picton.

Hi guys
Yes, I seem to have the history back to the first owner.
Need to go through all the paperwork and I will post up what I can find out
Ken, car has never been painted. Has some small touch ups here and there.
Also has some slight crazing around rear fins, but still awesome none the less.
Jim, you definitely saw it Picton. Hone is Thirlmere.

Hi there
I've sorted theough the paperwork that came with the FC, this is what I have come up with.
Car sold 15/10/59 through Jack Payne motors to Mrs J Hodge
Serial FC 60202 S, body 35220 S
All the nunbers inc engine, key etc match
Mrs Hodge traded in at Sutherland motors with 6k mile
A W Barrett then owned till 92 and 41k miles
A B Rowe then 92-93 and 41,350 mile
A P Howard 93-95 and 41,650 mile
A K Fairburn 95 till ? . Thats where the trail stops. I think the owner I purchased off had purchased off K Fairburn. Mileage stands at 49430.

It's interesting to see the chain over the years & wonder about events that triggered a sale each time.
A W Barrett had a long ownership & obviously looked after the car very well.
Here's a shot of the dealership, assuming this was the original dealer in central NSW.

Makes you wonder if Mrs J Hodge sold up, bought the car & moved to Sydney.

Keith,
Here's a little bit more history on the car from this forum.

Thanks for the info Dave
Ken, I am not sure on QLD rego. Could be DGC057? as that plate is in one of the pics.
Original NSW plate was BVT 617. I have both the original plates

I'm thinking the original plate would have started with O.
Is it on the original paperwork somewhere?

Hi Ken
You may be correct, it is not noted anywhere on the paperwork from when the car was new.
Gives me something to research.

I n 1959 the rego would have started with NH, NI or maybe NJ.  My father had a 1960 FB with the rego of NKX-597

That is a very nice motor-car. Kevin Fairburn owned it for a long time, and was a member of the NSW Club for a few years, including during 2001 when it participated in the 8th Nationals in Penrith.

I knew he had sold it, glad to see it has turned up again once more. Looks like it has been kept in good hands.

Best of luck with the old girl.

cheers

Hi Keith
With a name like that you must be a good bloke😄
I'm trying to find the correct plate for the car, see how we go.

RET, great that you know the car, it's in good hands still
Cannot wait to get it out on the road. I intend to keep it in the same condition that it is in now.

Regards
