To clarify things
If it is an FB EK crossmember it will most likely have the FB EK shockers which have a T bottom like later models. FE FC are different. This is easy to check.
FE FC crossmembers are all the same (except for some subtle strengthening to the area where the lower wishbones attach which was done during FE) Part number 7425215
FB EK cross members are not as deep in the centre. Part number 7425185
The bearings were changed in January 1958
So most FE have small bearings (the same as FJ) except for those made after Jan 58.
To check, the diameter of the outer bearing land on the stub axle in early FE is 0.6875 inch (15.5mm) whilst late FE and FC have diameter 0.75 inch (16.9mm)
There are various other ways to check such as reading the bearing part numbers, but one I use which does not involve taking the hub off is to locate the part number on the rim of the hub. The early hub starts with 740 and the later hub starts with 741. Sorry can't remember the last of the part numbers.
Maybe someone can add these.
