Yep 1 has a twist in it and looks ready to shear the splines off.

Pete, there is a pair of custom axles on eBay at the moment. Not sure of the price or if they will suit you. Jim

Pete; Blacky on the FB EK forum tells me that you can get wheel studs that have a larger diameter spline area for pushing into the flange but maintaining the original thread diameter? ?? I don't know where you can get them but he said that he has used them. May solve the issue with the VPW axles Regards Neil H

Finished the wagon last night . So things I have found doing a LJ torana diff conversion. LJ axles are left and rh sided ? only a few mm in it but enough to upset the planetry gears I thought they were universal. Handbrake cable was another one. I went to chop the ends off a HR cable and adapt to the FC cable then I did a ebay search and they make them to suit the conversion for $120 so that fixed that. I knocked out the studs on the housing and gave the face a quick hit with a ceramic combi click disc as it had some rather large lumps from having a heap of centres over tightened. I put new copper washers onto the studs with some sealer before pulling the studs back in. If using nolethane spring insulators they are wider to suit EH hr style springs so need a groove die ground into it so the u bolts can slip past them. I am having a custom made rear hose made today but a HR one should work fine. The tyres tuck in really nice now only around 15mm inside clerance either side. If they rub i will go longer studs with spacers to get them sitting perfect.

Well i took the wagon for a run and it rubbed. So i found that trailer studs at the local parts shop are perfect about 15mm longer i did have to redrill the flanges to 14mm then i made a brass spacer with a chamfer so when i rattle the studs in they pulled straight. perfect nice and tight then i cut 2 6mm spacers on the water jet in aluminium there is still a bit of axle sticking thru the alloy spacer.
Took it for a run beutiful quiet as very happy..
now to wire up the brake controller and trailer plug.

All finished. Took friday off to fit new towbar and tongue which i made and had powdercoated. (Half original towbar half new) Wire in new trailer plug with braided line and sealed gland nut. Wire in redarc brake controller. Rip dash cluster out and re wire the birds nest so it actually looks half tidy. After towing the van to its first show i was pleased i only heard to tyre touch once when i hit a large bump and took out top display. Only 1 dampener for the day a lady tried ripping the door off the van saying it doesnt even open i said its locked to keep people like you out. Sent from my SM-G920I using Tapatalk
