One for Harv, saw this on eBay last night. The seller said he had it on his EK and worked well, did a little research on it and found the they also made super chargers mainly for VW's and mainly in Europe. Not sure how to repost the add, but it is under fc holden on eBay for around $300 from memory.

Judson made sliding vane superchargers, very similar to Normans. You're right, they have a huge dak-dak following.

The Judon Electronic Magneto Coil is not really a maggie. It's a high performance coil that needs a seperate battery and distributor, whereas maggies are self contained (or sometimes have an external coil only).

Just checked eBay and it looks to have been removed, it was listed on the first or second page honest. Strange that it was removed as from memory it had 7 days left.

It was there but has sold for $150.

Harv,would these things be better than todays best coils?

Also I read on a installation manual that they need ballast resistor and condensor if they produce 12-14 volts on coil + terminal,
whats your thoughts? (anybodys actually)

My guess is that it is a design that is over half a century old. A modern coil should perform as well, if not better.

Ballast resistor will drop coil voltage back down (at anything other than cranking) to stop the primary winding burning out. Ballast's were common from EJ onwards, though would need to be wired back into an FE/FC. A bit fiddly, but still doable. Nothing unusual about the condensor.
