Hi, can anyone advise part no. or dimensions for the appropriate braided steel earth strap for the battery in an FE/FC?

I see there are a few places reproducing them.

thanks

Hi Cam,

Original part number for FE : Strap Assembly - Battery ground was # 7409590

This was replaced some time later and became # 7414982

Sorry I cant tell you how long an original one was.

The one I have on my wagon is about 400mm long.

Cheers Stewy   Cool

Thanks Stewy & Phil. So I guess they are about 1/2" wide or thereabouts?

I would say more like 3/4 inch wide. Actually made of copper braid as well, not steel.

These are still available from most Auto Electrician  supplies. I purchased 2 genuine straps recently.  They are braided copper straps with correct fitting to attach to cylinder head & battery.  old-blu
