Hi I have a 59 ute with a lot of surface rust, but still showing paint unfortunately not enough to make sense of the colour scheme. Also it has strong imprints of bodyside mouldings, obvious white firewall, subframe, possibly the roof lot (of surface rust)', the section where the cowl vent is located and the rear has some white beneath the taillights, while the taillights themselves are a type of green, painted. The green seems to dominate but the white is there. I have already done the research and things don't seem to make sense, looks visually to me to be some kind of two tone scheme but the numbers as far as I can tell do not indicate that. Definitely no tampering signs around ID plates themselves. Numbers are as follows FC-2106-7150-S Trim 353-650 Paint 256-2058 Any help would be much appreciated. Steve

Your ute is a single tone paint job in duchess green with dravo green trim. The paint number should be 2038. Regards Jim

The three on the ID plate is an old fashioned three, not like the 3 you see here. It has a flat top and a diagonal slash at the top. It does look like a 5 at times. Also I have seen a lot of factory misprints, but a photo would be helpful. Hard to help with the paint colours, can you post photos of the relevant sections?

Thanks for the quick reply but unfortunately I do not know how to post photos (any tips please), I've tried the icon without success. I appreciate what you mean about the old fashioned 3's, but I have to say this appears to be a 5. Thanks again Steve

There is definitely a chance that it has been mis typed during production. Here is the ID plate from the FC ute I saw at Shepparton today Ken Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

I don't know if you can expand the picture I sent as I can see it may to small to get a visual. Ute is definitely not one colour. Can anyone read the plate I sent

Can you shine a light from a sharp angle to cast a shadow and bring out the troughs?

Steve, going by what is on the plate, the ute is a single colour as there is no insert code stamped. The ute may have been painted at some stage. If you have the engine number, you can check the details in the technical section at the start of the car club forum. The details I listed are from there, if you input the engine number as well as the other details, it will give you the full details on the ute. Regards, Jim
