Richard,

I dunno about transport companies, but with only a little arm-twisting I'd fly down to Melbourne, pick the car up and drive it back.

Hey richfc, I've used Canberra car ways and ceva. Couldn't fault either  of them. Sydney to Melbourne is around $500.00 , depot to depot. You add Around $90.00 each end for door to door. They seem to keep changing their Sydney depot though. It could be Ingleburn or homebush or Fairfield or silverwater, so check that out with them.
Regards

Yeah I have to agree with the last couple of posts. Although I had no trouble with my dealing with ceva and Canberra car ways, I am picking up
A plymouth from
Kempsey to bring back to Sydney and I will be using a car trailer. It's not cheaper but it is a bit easier sometimes. I have also done the Sydney to Melbourne trailer trip a couple of times. It really comes down to having the time and if a mate comes along it can be done non stop.

I used a bloke recently from Casino NSW/Qld where he was moving to ... He bought a non runner, no brake car for me from Wagga Wagga to Bowraville near Coffs Harbour for $800.00 .. Great bloke he even hired another tilt tray to bring it into Wagga when it was relised he couldn't get his truck out to the property to get it . He never made a fuss about that and didn't ask me for the money but once I realised what he had done gave him what cash I had left over from the original quote .. He also bought the car out to my farm which was another 30 odd clicks out of his way off the highway west into the bush .. Now the bad news , i've looked through all my phone records and can't find his number .. But will keep looking ...
