Ladies and gents,

My work on the Norman supercharger guide is coming along well, though I am hitting a few stumbling blocks in finding information. There is precious little written info on the Normans, and not too many surviving machines to lay my hands on. Whilst some guys have been fantastic, I'm starting to run a bit thin on the ground. If anyone has contact details for the people below, I'd really appreciate it. Aim here is for a respectful discussion, being mindful of peoples time. Please bear in mind that I am Facebook illiterate.

I'd like to get into contact with Chris Batey, who runs the Lil Horny Devil front–engined dragster. From what I can see, Chris' Norman is one of the later (Mike Norman) ones. I'd like to talk to Chris about the dimensions of his Norman to assist in my writeup of how to identify the various models made. Wouldn't mind also talking to him about the multiple Holley fuel bowls that he runs on his Norman SUs.

I'd like to get into contact with Norm McCormack, who runs a front-engined dragster with a Type 110. This is one of the only two Type 110's that I know of, so am keen to get some photos where possible (all the photos I have of his FED are long-distance).

I'd similarly like to get into contact with Ken Stevenson, who also runs a Type 110 FED. I understand that there was a big writeup in the 2008 Street Machine Hot Rod Annual on Ken's machine, though so far have been unable to get my hands on a copy.

Finally, I'd love to be able to contact either Mike or Bill Norman. I understand they were at Noosaville and Murwillumbah, though hunting through the local phone books has drawn a blank. I guess I’m at a stage now where I can have a good conversation with these gentlemen without appearing to be either a raving idiot or a wannabe.

Cheers,
Harv.

Harv I should be able to get you Norm Mc Cormack contact but I don't think he is campaining the 6 pack at this time his FED was designed to take both 6 and 8 cylinder engines  .....I know another guy who runs a 471 on a Holden 6 FED and Joe  from JZ performance who was running the Whipple .....Also might be an idea to go to the Castlereagh Reunion   or I have Corrins email she is the organiser of this event and may be able to help you track some of the old drag races down ......FC427.......

Thanks mate - appreciated. Would really appreciate Norm's contact.

The older FEDS are really cool (and I would kill to get to a Castlereagh reunion!), though the bit I'm itching for is Norm's Type 110. I only know of three - the two in Norm and Ken's FEDs, and the one that Eldred ran in his HR (Eldred had an earlier clutched unit in 1967, but swapped it out for a 110 sometime before 1969).

Hi Mark
Norm sold his supercharger to Joe Batey & has it on the old “ Horny” dragster, so not much use talking to Norm.
However, he may have Batey’s no so call Norm on 0418245242.
The sump is a one off for the rail, so I certainly don’t want to go through making any more. I need to pull the motor to install it…what a shit fight !! I’ve got so much “stuff” hanging off the thing that I wish that I could go back to a basic setup.
Anyway, I am expecting big things from this combo if it hangs together.

Bugger... so the "Mr Filter" and the "Lil Horny Devil" Type 110 supercharger are one and the same machine. Time to hunt down Mr Batey!

Cheers, and thanks,

Getting there slowly on the contact chasing.

Managed to contact Bill Norman, who has put me into contact with Mike  Cheesy . Have also had a good conversation with Norm McCormack.

As am excellent byproduct, I have had a very, very cool conversation with an owner of a Norman-blown Elfin race car, and the gentleman who drove it back in the 60's. I have a damn cool anecdote to share... just tidying it up.

Have drawn a blank though on Ken Stevenson and Chris Batey despite following up the leads offered so far. Any more leads guys?

Cheers,
