Yes it is the B pillar light switch which was only on the FE 217 and FC 217 models. Not many of these on the road and not many switches seen for sale. Hopefully Geoff if you look in your parts box, yours should still be there. Ken

Just having a look in the parts books are they the same? 48/217 , FJ/217 # 7407585 FE/217, FC/217 # 7410302 In my FE preliminary parts catalogue it lists the FE/217.....7410302 as a N.P. which is a New Part for this model. Interested to know if they are the same or not. Cheers Stewy

Here's a pic from "the Holden collection". It looks different but is not a real picture. Couldn't find a real pic in a quick search Ken Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

GM-H often change part numbers even tough the part itself looks identical. It can be a change in supplier or maybe even a minor upgrade in spec. If anyone out there has one of those superseded parts catalogues, it may show that it supersedes. Dr Terry

Looked up FX to EJ parts book and the two switches continue to have separate part numbers.

I stand corrected !
These 2 switches are the same in their frontal physical appearance & operation, but are slightly different electrically. One side of the switch is permanently earthed in the last pic.
This is where it gets confusing. According to the factory wiring diagrams, the fully insulated one in the first post, should suit FJ, wheres the last pic (shown as a Perth FJ/217) matches the FE wiring diagram.
I checked the one in my FJ/217 & it's the same as in Ken's first post.

Maybe I need to stand corrected I bought this one at a swap meet assuming it was FE FC. (This was after I sold both my business sedans so I couldn't check) Anybody want to buy a FJ pillar switch? Ken
