Just i question on the FC Y frames.
Might sound silly but i am still fairly new to the removal process.
I have found some rust in my Y frame and i was wondering when it is removed and replaced with a differdnt one how do i go about changing the origional chassis NO back on as i understand it is all one peice. Or does the inner guard unbolt from the Y frame. Just want it to stay origional and not look as if it has been cut and shut.
Look forward to your replies.
Thanks Trent.

It depends if you want to do it legally or not but legally by changing the front subframe because th echassis number is stamped on it it becomes a different car and im sure that you are not allowed to restamp numbers

But if you are not fussed on doing it legal just cut the number out of them and reweld the number you want in the good subframe being careful as to getting it flush with original steel around it so it looks right

Jim,
No i wasn't aware  that you could by replacements, the rust is mainly on the passengers side near were it bolts the front end on and accross the section under the radiator, were do i get these parts from Harrisons?
Thort it might be easier to by a replacement Y frame if i found one.
