Hi All,

I have searched and there is a lot of info on extractors but I can't seem to find the info I am after.

I am looking at three sets that are on ebay:

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/271218138679?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649#ht_486wt_1012
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/360675131759?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649#ht_776wt_1012
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/150765217865?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649#ht_2463wt_1012

Other than cost I am intersted in your comments on the differences in design. The first two have the primaries going into secondaries prior to going into the main pipe. The last one seems to be different in design in that there seems to be no secondaries.

I would be interested in your comments on which you feel may be the better ones to go with.

Cheers

Anythings better than stock.

Unless its a screaming fire breathing grey motor they all do the same job.

I've got a set from the first one listed out of Wollongong and I'm happy with the quality and fit Grin

The old greys do need help in breathing and I would agree anything is better than stock.

i think the first 2 would give you more low end torque and they're heaps cheaper..

If you haven't grown up by 50, you don't have to.

I'd be more inclined to go with the fist types too but whichever ones you decide to go with you will notice a big difference to how the car feels, sounds and performs, fitting a set of extractors is the cheapest and easiest way to get more performance out of any engine.

If you mean the FC he has a jet hot coated set.

Or you could be being smart meaning the EH  Tongue

Thanks all for your responses. Would love to get a set of those headers but unfortunately a little out of my price range.

The reason for considering this is that I have got twins I have been playing around with for a while but the manifold isn't fitting "true" with exhaust manifold. ie: across the faces of the manifolds they aren't aligned properly. Hence I have blown a couple of exhaust gaskets. I have played around with this a little by leaving the hot box bolts loose until fitted to the head etc.. The next thing would be to have the faces aligned by having them milled. With this I thought it would be a good excuse to get extractors (at least to the misses anyway). The first two seem to go down a long way and then level off horizontally. This attracted me to them as I would only need a short piece of pipe to run to the exhaust instead of having another pipe bent up or cutting the original engine pipe that I was hoping to keep for "just in case".

Thanks again. I will see how I go. Cheers Rod

Yeah I meant the EH. Haven't you heard about pedros backwards compatible grey conversion for the EH using his leftovers

Ended up going with the second set. Order on a Thursday arvo and arrived Monday. Wasn't expecting it to be so quick. Now to fit them.

By the way, there must be a price war on these things. When I first looked the set I got was $170. When I went to order they were $150 with free delivery. The first set soon followed dropping there set by $10 to $150 with free delivery. Now recently the third set has dropped their price from $310 to $294. Go figure?
