Hi all,
I was wondering what were the original screws that held the panels on the inside of FE ute? Mine currently has teks screws and looks ugly...

cheers

Hi mate, I used to have an FE ute with screws, flat blade, not phillips, and flat base to the head, not countersunk. Not 100% sure if this is original but it sure beats the heck out of tek screws!  Smiley Martyn

Yep,

as Martyn says, pan head slot screws, not that easy to get now, hardware outlets may have pan head in a combination slot / Phillips, but the tech screws may have made the holes bigger

Harry I just replaced my originals with shiny ugly tek screws?  Send me a PM if you want them? Dont have a full set but pretty close and definitely second hand.

See these Wafer heads (website above), I have a packet of the same thing here, brand Bremick and australian made. Even though they are philips head, they are brilliant and all the builders used them on my steel frame house for smaller items. they go in so easy with their ultra small drilling tip so you never round the head. A good tip is to get a few of the wafers and drill some into position where they gotta go, then put the     Needle Point – Pan Head Screws in once the hole is drilled. Much easier than drill bits for some reason, depends on the look ya want.

Beautifully thin head on them  Kiss

Just don't get all carried away flexing your muscles when you put the wafers in because it is possible to break the head off. Mind you, you'd have to go pretty hard to do it.  Smiley
