Hi All,

I bought this car late 2010 from a forum member, Pete Nicholls.
At the time Pete was unable to give me any history on the car, and all my efforts to find him again have failed.
If anyone has some info on the car's history I would greatly appreciate any feedback.

Physical details are as follows:

FC-225-27138-M Vehicle is an FC Special Sedan, the 27,138th manufactured in Melbourne, Victoria.
254-847 The Exterior Trim Code (254) describes this car as Two-Tone: Wangarra Grey over Ascot Grey.
The Interior Trim Code (847) refers to: Riff Red & Black.
253-7773  The main colour (bonnet, guards) is DUCO Lacquer Ascot Grey
253-5300  The insert colour (window frames, rear quarters) is DUCO Lacquer Wangarra Grey
253-7773  The roof colour is DUCO Lacquer Ascot Grey
The vehicle was painted in the Mid 1959 scheme style (based on the ID No)
FC-56782-M The vehicle was assembled during 1959, and was the 55,782nd FC (in any bodystyle) assembled in Melbourne, Victoria.
Manufacture date (based on engine number L607304) is September 1959.

It has sat in my shed for 2 1/2 years whilst I accumulate most hard-to-obtain bits, but I am about to start The Big Project.
Body is fairly good and rust-free, having had floors replaced at some stage,
The interior, brakes, suspension and most fiddly bits are totally stuffed.
Paint is suffering from small blisters all over, same for most chrome.
The engine leaks and burns oil.
Gearbox condition is unknown, but linkages and column shift need major work.
Diff leaks badly.
Most glass is scratched and rubber needs replacing.
(No wonder he couldn't get a roadworthy).
Anyhow, I got it at a mutually fair price.

I'm just about to start work on it and when I really get into it I will start a new thread about the progress.

Here's a link to Pete's thread about his car.

Using my detective skills I found a phone number or some of the other members of the railway club might know his number.

Gary,  I recall Peter telling me he bought the car from Central Qld., maybe Gladstone. Peter was, the last time I spoke to him, employed as a rural manager with Suncorp so maybe you can track him down there to find your car's history.  good luck, Mike.

Thanks everyone,

Friends and acquaintances of his don't seem to know where he went, maybe to Brisbane or up the coast.
Steelpacific guy isn't him.
I haven't tried his old employer yet, but I may this week.
I don't know if I want to spend a LOT of time on this (already about 5 hours of phone time), I just thought other forum members may have known the car or it's history.

Cheers,
