I'm chasing a set of HQ or Torana stub axles and bottom sub frame bolts so I can get this car up and rolling.
Happy to pay freight and would prefer complete units ready to bolt up.
Cheers
Ben

I'm in Tassie Pete, how much? Do people use LC/LJ on HR front ends or only on the Torana front ends due to the steering geometry difference???

Ben, What stud pattern are you running. I have Torana stubbs with commodore disc's and calipers. Not cheap mate as they were made/modified by castle main rod shop. Just putting it out there mate in case you get stuck. brett

Haven't settled on a stud pattern as yet Brett as it was dependent on what axles I could source first (kinda the arse about way of doing it I know) currently the car has a HR disc brake front end and HR drum rear. The plan was to keep it like this to get it mobile whilst doing the body work then go from there.

Ben theres no gain here until you work out what sorta motor your gunna run.
Torana and HR and HK HT HG HQ HJ ect all interchange but if you run a healthy V8 i suggest commodore or HQ so torana wont help you at all they have little to no gain over HR.
You can bolt up a set off a HQ stubs and all but will need to change diff stud pattern?
I do commodore conversion onto HR drum stubs but a diff will need to be narrowed to suit ?

Ben
Following on from Pete's comment, I am running a full VN V8 Commodore brake system.
Although the rear diff can be shortened, to suit wheel track, the VN front rotors on a HR Drum Brake Stub with adapters, will need a different offset rim to keep in spec.
HQ-HZ rotors are about 20mm narrower than VN. If you are runnig these stubs no need to any adapter plates either.
My wheels are 15x7 with the rear having a 3.50 BS and the fronts having a 4.50 BS
Hope this helps
Cheers
Craig D

Hey white FC, finally found this thread again Ummm, I plan on running hq front brakes but i have just converted and shortened a 28 spline vl turbo diff at rear, so my question is how did u get the hq pattern at the back. Did u modify the rear axle hub or is there another way?

Actually I believe that only hg ht are any good as hq short arms dont give u right toe out on turns either cos they have no bend.
