Can anybody throw some light on what my problem can be with NEV?
The gear lever has a rattle in it at speed. The lever has been removed checked out and appears to be in good condition. It has also been greased.
The gear linkages which are all new have been adjusted in accordance with the manual but the rattle still persists.
Any Help would be appreciated.

Denis, some honey pots have a wavy washer installed between the lever and the honey pot on the pivot shaft, which is there to stop rattle, others don't have the washer. I presume there is either a variation with casting the honey pot or with machining it and this determines whether the washer is needed or not - on some occasions I have tried to fit the washer and it simply won't fit, and there is also no rattle. On other cars there is heaps of slop between the lever and the honey pot.
Anyway, if you don't have the wavy washer, install one and it should fix the problem. I have a few here if needed.

Dennis, perhaps I should add the most obvious cause,   That would be that the spring in the end of the lever has gone missing. This will make the lever rattle. Before I send anything can you confirm that the spring is in place.

Hi Ken,
The Spring at the end of the lever is intact and in good condition.
