It would be great to hear if any of these early customs have survived the years.. Some are quite possibly sitting dusted in a shed somewhere.. Does anyone know of of any?

I remember hearing that "The Shark" was found at a tip in Adelaide and saved by someone who realised what it was.  A few of us visited "Old Oldens" wrecking yard in Adelaide during the '99 Nationals and the proprietor knew the person who had found it.

In the entranceway of the wreckers are a stack of photos of customised 48s and FJs.  There were also a number of customs in various staging of construction around the back.  Well worth a look if you're in the area.

cheers

The Shark is/was a pretty well known custom FE sedan of the 70's.  I have some pix of it at home, sure others do also.

I'm super curious about this 'shark' car. I'm in Adelaide and usually head down to old oldens every week or so, I'll have a word with them next time about who has the car and then see if I can beg a chance to snap some digicam pics.
