My question is, why not just weld them in?
Then have a hadfield type set up on the front to be able to get the front end off... I say only type as you have the skills and the tools to make it so much better.
I had an angle grinder and a welder when I did mine.

I was originally intending to sell a few but what a head f#&@

I still think its more of a challenge to do it this way planning on blasting and painting under it now to tidy it up so being removable will help.


ill get there makes me think a bit for a change.

ive also moved the front section accros deliberatlly just to make room for the exhaust.

Your skills with metal are outstanding. Makes my chasis look cheap and nasty. I chose to bolt mine in place and add internal box section to prevent crushing when bolted up tight.

I spent 15 years doing many of these chassis kits . Most were only welded in at the front and rear and made from rhs or shs  . Those that were cut from  150x50 rhs and profiled to the floor pan[ note that no matter how original every pan is different] and welded the full length run the risk of the floors bending [provision must be made for fuel and brake lines at the drivers side rear because engineers usually don't allow them under chassis]. Front subframe 'y' sections usually stiffened with triangular plates this can interfere with the operation and installation of the original handbrake and speedo cables and full width gearbox mounting sections make exhaust shops pull their hair out . Its many years ago now but when I fitted the 5 speed in my van I welded rhs along both sides of the lifted gearbox hump from the subframe to and tapering off at the hat section at the high part of the floor under the seat[this point is where a cross brace might go between rails if placed high enough to go above or around looping the tailshaft] . This not only allows room for the exhaust but plenty of gearbox mount options. Just a thought mate . When I do this I usually get pages of arguments. Cheers

Its not too heavy 4mm sheet but if you look its curved both ways it also has a 120mm of flat in the middle for gearbox mount.
im contemplaiting doing a round thru section for the pipes too. buti need to get motoring.
 wasnt as easy as it looks so when you look under the car everything is parallel to the sills.

got a deadline to meet
