I have a couple pairs of stub axles I want to ID, can anyone help?
First pair marked
HOLDEN 34647 & HOLDEN 34648
Second pair marked
HOLDEN 49811B & HOLDEN 49812B (I think, the casting is a little blurred)

Photo would be better - are they disc brake or drum brake?
There are only 3 types of disc brake stub axle and even less drum brake when you separate kingpin and ball joint types.

The second one from the left appears to have a Torana steering arm

According to Google, HOLDEN 49811B is LC/LJ left knuckle (stub axle) and HOLDEN 49812B is respective right knuckle. Couldn't find the other two though.

Yes,those numbers may be lc lj but you will find that steering arm to be lh lx .The later Torana arms drop lower and are straighter,hence less scrubbing of the outer tyre when turning.This was also improved when the upper balljoint was moved back a few mm,s.Like I said call it RTS if you like.If your wife has a laundry trolley and you bend the axle down in the middle with your foot it will have the same effect.

That would make sense as I have a bare LC front crossmember and not much else of it. So that is the set on the right. That would make the set on the left most likely LH/LX, are any of these of any use on a HR front end? |

Yeah,lc lj are identical to hr, and the lh lx I believe are only slightly different in axle so no problem

Oops sorry, meant to say axle height.All these early disc brake stubs are interchangeable,but be carefull of the inclination and axle height[top balljoint and calliper clearance.

Axle height is the same but inclination is different, Torana stub axles on a HR front end can cause bad tyre wear and upset steering geometry.
