So I've done the whole Xmas thing in Brisbane now and was keen to go home. I wanted to meet Craig and his white FC V8. Travelling south to Newcastle my deviation via toowoomba meant I had to go in land instead of the coastal route. It added about 90 min to my trip. Craig's a really nice bloke too, and very helpful. He even had a late start at work so I could make it there!(thanks mate).

So now I have to go via armidale. Caught a tail light poking out of a garage on the way and had to stop. Turns out the guy just bought it off a farm ..... in mint condition for its life. Last rego 1972 and genuine 46000 miles on the clock. The receipts photo is one for 2shillings in 1965 and the other in decimal currency for 25cents for carting hay!!!

As the story goes the owner didn't want it to rust so kept pouring oil over the whole car. Berries and crap from the farm stuck to it and new owner said there was a solid inch of dirt stuck to it and only surface rust. It cleaned up pretty well with no dents. Tail gate and spare wheel door in perfect nick too. He plans to put it back on the road soon. Dirt still stuck on engine so no numbers Ken but got the ID plates. Wasn't till I got down the road I forgot to get the number off the engine bay.

No I didn't offer to come back with a trailer but I have his number (mooowahahahaha!!!!!!!!)
Turned into a 15 hour drive when it should have been 10 coastal route. Stopped at other places including some with planes......Family very tired.

How good is that car?   Shocked

It's hard to believe that they are still out there with low miles like that

Marc

Thanks for taking the time to call in. It was great to meet your family and for you to have a look over my car.

That ute looks fantastic.

Its a shame more of us don't look that good after 56 odd years.

Catch up soon

Craig D

Pete's right, I did find one in a yard just out of Casino. He didn't want to sell it then but, I will make further enquiries next time I'm out that way.

Hey guys, just loaded the app and will try to post a photo. I will check it out in the home computer later. If there is no photo on this post then we will all know how dumb I am.

Thanks . It looks good from A fee metres but it will have to do for another year or so before I spend money on paint. Runs beautifully though. Drove down to Canberra in it during the hot weather and ran like a dream. I had forgotten how useable these grey motors are,
