Starting this morning, I have noticed some words in the posts being highlighted as links. Clicking on them brings up some dubious websites, some of which my virus checker reports as "dangerous". Has anyone else experienced this, or is it only on my machine? Cheers, Ol'Gaz

Wasn't there a particular version of Internet Explorer that did this? Is it happening on just this site, or others as well? Are any other people seeing this behaviour?
Have you installed any new software lately that offers 'enhancements' to your browser?
There hasn't been any change made to the forum that could be causing this to my knowledge, and it's not been reported by anyone else, so I'd be investigating your computer first...
cheers RET

Hi RET, Just replied to Stinky then saw your post.
I have Internet Explorer 9 and have been using it for about 6 months, with no previous hiccups.
As the "problem" has disappeared with no input from myself, I suspect external dark forces are at work.
No new software or enhancements have been applied, although Microsoft upgrades usually happen in the dead of night.
I will be watching carefully from now on.
Cheers, Ol' Gaz

RET/Stinky, I had trouble finding this as my browser deletes history on exiting. The anti-virus report is as follows. Website Address: http://globalvisitorsurvey.com/au/index2-p.php?engsec=7&t202kw=photosRating: Dangerous Page (49) Response: Blocked Detected By: Web Reputation Looking back, I cannot definitely identify which posts contained the links, and they are no longer there. I will investigate further. Cheers, Ol'Gaz

Hi RET/Stinky, I just googled globalvisitorsurvey and it's not just me who sees this kind of thing. Try it.
At least now I have something to work with.
Cheers, Ol' Gaz

Hi RET/Stinky, I have just found 2 more oddball links. "Trend Micro Titanium Maximum Security" scanned my computer and found nothing untoward, but finds the links potentially dangerous. 2 posts are attached. Cheers, Ol' Gaz
ps: I am still suspicious that the problem lies within my computer, but forward this info in case the bug is somehow embedded into the FE-FC site. I don't have the problem with any other site at this stage.
Cylinder head bolts « on: January 04, 2013, 03:11:14 PM » 0 Quote
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hi all,
After removing the cylinder head of my engine (FX block with FB/EK head) I have found them all to be the same length. The parts manual list there being. 8 short and 7 long bolts. Can anyone tell what sizes they should be as I'm replacing the bolts. The word MANUAL is linked to a suspicious site

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Looks like the mini in photo 10 and 11 invented the Pitt Monuvre. With moves like that it could be Paul Paul Morris or Russell Ingall behind the wheel.
The word PHOTO is linked to a suspicious site

Hey Gaz Neither of those links appear in those threads on my browser. Do you have anti-malware software installed? Regards Alex

Hi Gaz,
I just checked the pages in question, and the raw source of them does not have any links attached to those words. I'm afraid it's definitely something at your end that's messing with your browser pages.
Can I assume you are using Internet Explorer? Try downloading Firefox (or better yet, Chrome) and see whether you see the same behaviour.
If you want, bring up the cylinder bolts page, choose "View Source", and copy/paste all the code that comes up into an email to me and I might be able to get a sense of what's going on.
cheers RET
