Our thoughts and prayers are with our Tassie brothers and sisters. They get left of our maps occasionally but we never forget they are still Australian. Please stay safe.

Judi and I are in Victoria (back on the boat in the morning) our son Nick who lives about 1.5ks away was at our house to keep an eye on things and move the cars out when the police arrived late yesterday and gave all the street an hour to evacuate. He has had to evacuate our house and cars for us, then move his cars out of the area away from his house and prepare to evacuate himself if necessary. It's a bit of a worry when we are relying on phone calls, texts and Facebook to keep informed, and not being there to help ourselves and neighbours. Last nights reports were bad enough but the call we got an hour ago indicated the fire front has turned with the wind and was heading our way!
The good news this morning was a call out from Nick to some mates, and a convoy of FC's, Race Cars, Nissans and Judi's Subaru were all dispatched well away from the danger areas.

Regards

That's good news Weddo, just watching the news on the telly. Shocking!, but at least there seems to be no loss of life.    Dave

Good news indeed! Fingers crossed for you, your family and your house, shed, etc, surviving this unscathed and unscorched...

cheers, jack
