HI all,
new here but not to cars. This is my first really old car, 1958 FC Special Station Wagon. (but I also have a 1940 GMC truck I am playing with at the moment)

Here is the basic run down so far and a few pics;

She is a barn find (stored 10 years) west Qld car
NO RUST!! There is only a tiny bit up under the radiator (easy fix) but rest of car is solid and not full of bog and filler etc All doors are solid and rust free.
The trim and paint codes match with car, but engine is a 138 Grey not 132.
Interior is VGC for age, front seat recovered, back is good but faded, carpet new and door trims A-1.
3 speed column
Very solid floors and new carpet

Since I got her I have been restoring mechanically first; all new re-cored radiator, water pump, hoses, fluids, plugs, leeds, oil.
Cleaned fuel tank/lines, and carby kit done.
She is at my mech’s now and we just did NEW clutch master and slave cylinders and brake master cyl. The new wheel cyl just arrived and will be done soon, then she is driveable.
She is purring like a kitten and starts easily even when cold. No smoke.

Only downside to her is the paint. She was in an open fronted shed and front faded. I had her cut/polished but needs paint. And she has very minor bumps here and there but normal paint prep would straighten it perfectly as hardly notice now.
All chrome is good but bumpers/grill pitted etc, but from distance look good.
Will post more updates once I get fresh pics and pic her up from mech (hopefully soon)

also here is a link to a walk around of her and one of the first starts before she was tuned.

hope all that worked as posting pics is a bit different here to what I am used to.

Top score, that is one neat looking wagon not often you come across something in that good shape. That interior looks fantastic, plastic on the door trims, rare as. Good luck with the rest and keep the updates flowing.
Welcome and regards Jim

hi and thanks for comments.
My mech told me today that just about every customer stops and has a look at her while parked there, she is a real crowd pleaser!

here are some more pics of interior since I replaced carpet.

Welcome to the forum.  Looks like a great find.  From all accounts its a drive away and enjoy project.  The kind I like.  That interior trim looks to be in tip top shape.  I'm sure you will find plenty of great advise and support here.

Yep she is in great cond and so solid.
She was not running and no clutch/brakes and very dirty, so a bit of 'easy' work to get going.
Almost done now

Well she is up and running!
Yay
She drives great for an old girl but on my first run she decided to just stop...doh.
Turns out fuel line clogged again, so time for another clean out.
Other than that she turned heads everywhere and new brakes worked a treat.
Will post new pics soon.

yay
spoke to mech today and suspects the fuel filter clogged (as there was some crud in that fuel line even after a blow out with compressor.

She is running again and ready to go tomorrow (as he is trying to fix the minor hand brake issue before I take her)

will update after a drive.

Well she made it home!

After a slight hiccip with fuel filter clogging she is driving well.

brakes work great and she runs quite well for an old girl.

still have a few little things to sort out but overall she is great.

turned a few heads
