Hope its OK with you guys if I tell the story of my trusty 1958 FC.
Recently pulled the cover back long enough to get one photo. Next time I get it out of the shed for a drive I'll take some more.
I bought this car in 1979 in Sydney. It had done 35000 miles and was in beautifull nick with just a tiny bit of pannel rust and chalky paint. It was owned from new by the head teacher of auto trades at Sydney Tech and sold to a school teacher. I bought the car from this lady in fully stock condition.
As soon as I got it I dissmantled it for a full paint job and trick up the mechanicals a bit. I fitted a 179 HP red motor, HR disc front end, EH rear end and steering column and some nice 6 and a half inch crome Torana rims. I love the way they look with the FC hubcaps.I fitted good shocks and front and rear stabiliser bars and it is an absolute treat to drive.
In those days parts were very easy to get. It was just before the advent of rare spares and the dealers were just about giving away NOS. My freinds and I built up a big collection of parts, many of which I still have today.
After I finished the car I moved to SA and the FC sat on blocks in my parents shed for many years until I got it transpotrd to SA. It still pretty much a shed dweller now but I have it on historic rego now so there's no excuse for not getting it out occasionally. It still only has 42000 on the speedo. I love the way it can sit for a year and just put a battey in and it goes. I try to keep the fluids fresh.
Now that I'm getting older I'm starting to get keen to give the old girl a freshen up. It does't need much although I have a M21 four speed and a floor pan from a EK auto that I am eager to fit. I dont want to start the job until I know I have heaps of time to finish it properly.

This is a really interesting car - so little miles, and so few owners.

You have to put us out of our misery and wack up a few pics asap

A resto should be very easy you would think considering the conservative life it has had.

Please keep us up to date with your resto

Thankyou for the interest everyone.
I'm sorry I couldn't post some better pictures. I've been meaning to get around to it for some time. At the moment I'm away from home for work so I thought I'd start off with what I had. At present the FC is tucked up in a corner While I reorganise the workshop. I'm planning to install a hoist before I begin the procedures on the car I have been contemplating for many years.
As soon as I can I will get its covers off and give it a bit of a shine up and do a photo shoot and post them up. I'll post a picture of the ID plates if anyones interested.

G'day everyone.
I have at last removed the covers and given the old girl a clean and service and taken it for a bit of a drive. I took some photo's that I uploaded to photobucket unfortunately not having much luck getting them posted on the site. Any hints?

Haha, it's not beyond the relm of possibility there may be a leak, it hasn't been wet in over 30 years. Besides, why hide a pristine floor without a tiny bit of oxidisation. Seriously, the reason there's no covering is because I always intended to fit a EK auto floor.
