Thanks Wayne, No I haven't had the seat covered yet but I reckon I'll take it around this week for quotes. Probably fall over backwards when they give me the prices

got the exhaust all but finished today... next jobs are radiator mounts, fuel hoses, charcoal canister. then wiring there's a light at the end of the tunnel... But its still in the distance!

ok. Progress report. I finished the battery mounts in the boot and the excellerator pedal today. thought everything was going swell until I found the vn accelerator cable I was going to use was found to be about 6 inches short... Oh well ,,, I will source a bloke that can lengthen this one, or make a new one for me... every day gets me closer to the point of starting that damn v8 in the engine bay!.. I'll post more photos soon. my engineer is willing to look at some progress photo's so I'll make a day of it and get some really good ones..... thanks guys. Shannon.

oh my god! just found this thread............. love it love love it! looks like a little chrysler royal i saw the other day,,,,,,,,, awesome............ since i was a kid i wanted a chopped 57 chev or fb/ek . bought an fc cause the windsreen was easier to chop problem was i fell in love with fe/fcs and couldn't chop it cause the shell was too good. best of both worlds mate..........

so, got the motor running today wash't that a crash course in engine management systems .... now starting contain out the unused wires in the vn loom

Hi Guys, time for an update..... Finally got the swaybar in and mounted I got braided brake lines made up, but also found my calipers and master cylinder need reconditioning. So back to the drawing board with that one.... But.. I got the front seat recovered! looks good, but not exactly what we asked for.. (MRS isn't real happy) Started the electrical wiring and got most of the engine management sorted. Thanks to the forum for heaps of info It's still a messy working progress but it'll come together I feel the need to throw in a few more pictures of the engine bay. ... and as I'm going to use show wheels "sphere" billet 18 inch wheels, my test wheel shows the stance of the front end But I have a problem Not happy with the steering wheel position at all. Too low. I'm thinking it may be due to the penitration point throw the firewall. If i change that I may be able to get more angle on the column and more clearence from my seat and legs. THAUGHTS ??

i had same prob and uni joint was binding(unfinished project aswell) i got driving position where i wanted it then cut outand fabbed a bit to suit firewall then used a bit of tube to hold column welded nuts in thirds around tube and used grub screws to hold the column

thanks waynos, I might try that... Have you got pictures ?? I was very surprised once I got in the car and felt the driving position... Must be something out of wack cos I can't see how anybody else would put up with it... And what I've done to date is a fairly common mod. Shannon.

unfortunately i never took pics always racing to get it finished its all painted and tried to make it look factory i will try and take pics for ya but its all painted black so hard to tell in a photo i reckon just imagine cuttin a square out past where it all screws in and weldin in a piece then hole saw it where ya want the column to sit i got some stainless tube that fit over bottom of column 50 mm i think from memory drilled , welded nuts 8 mm at 10 oclock ,2 oclock and 6 oclock weld that in then got stainless 8mm grub scews presto hopes this makes some sense i always have trouble gettin photos on here i'll try

Hi Guys, Its been quite a while since my last post! But a little has happened lately.... I have had the FC engineered and have the Blue plate for all the mods in my greasy little hands With the new modification laws now in place I'm told mine will be one of the last legal 5L conversions.. So I think the next logical step is to get wheels organised and fit them to ensure the guards don't foul etc... I have my heart set on 18 inch rims and was thinking 7" on the front with 9" on the rear.... Problem is I havent been able to find many dealers that can help me. Showwheels seem to be the only custom wheel builder I can find and they are hellishly expensive!! Mrs is insisting on wheels that are a little different, not the usual 5 spoke design... Can anybody suggest a good cheaper custom wheel builder or source of rims that will suit my build (I'm running Commodore Stud Pattern)? Thanks in advance, Shannon. 0487388480

Looking good. My wheels are Intros pretty expensive and shipping on top as they were custom order. I think you will struggle with 9s on the back unless you are tubbing it. The biggest tyre you can get on the rear is 225 possible to get 245,s with a massage to the rail lip. After going down the whole 18 inch path i wish i had gone 17,s little more tyre on the rim makes it look better also it would give more clerances but i needed 18,s to clear my brake callipers.. http://www.introwheels.com/keep the pics coming looks great.. Nice car this,it was done right ,i checked it out when it was 4sale,glad to see it again,with the wheels ,how about Internationals,they are difrnt sizes,even BMW and Jag,just another option! Gaz!

I went Billet Specialties. I ordered direct from the US. I gave they are 15x7 but they do Custom as I needed different offset front to rear.
All done on email. Expensive but I am over the moon with the result. I agree with Pete on his wide you can run the rears.
I am running 215/60 on rear & 205/60 on the front.
