Hi,

Just wondering if anyone knows what the exact colour of the rear wooden floor is in a wagon/van?

The original wood that I removed looked dark with a greenish tint.

I put a clear varnish on it, which looks pretty nice but I think I want to keep it original.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Bump.

I should have mentioned that my vehicle was a van that the dealer put a rear seat in, so it still has a rear (although shortened) wooden floor.

Thanks again

I'm sure there was a picture posted of a very good original ute rear floor but can't find it now. The board is a ply material with a masonite like top layer. The whole lot was painted a chocolate brown colour.

Thanks Ken.  I couldn't find it either in the pics.  It would be hard to try and replicate without seeing the pic and talking to a person who has done it.  Maybe I just stick with the clear varnish on the ply.

Hi Crackers,

I will check out some original flooring we have tommorrow for you, it is ply and has been painted a chocolate brown as Ken mentioned.  We polished one of the steel strips and had the paint colour matched.

I could send you the old tin if you want for sample, also some slot head screws with a part No's if this can help.

Hey Andrew,

Thanks so much for that information.  So the steel strips are matching colour?  We just bloody power coated them black!

It would be great if I could get a sample of the colour and maybe a pic if you have one.  I will PM you.

Thanks again.

Crackers

I checked out the floors today, the steel strips seem to be same brown as the flooring on both. I took some photo's ( and I will learn-try how to upload them tonight).

I will be glad to send you the paint sample, just pm me your postal address.
