What is the difference between an FC rear axle and an EH rear axle?

I know the bearing is different - it is longer and has an inbuilt seal on it on the EH. Consequently I think the EH axle has a longer land section for the bearing than an FC axle. Possible that the bearing laqnd is different as well.

I don't have an EH book to check the track width of the EH but I think FC track width and EH track width are the same so the axle length should be the same.
You would need to confirm this detail

The reason I ask.....I have been given two axles supposedly EH.... course spline, backing plates look same as EH - HR, but they are about 80mm longer overall and about 30mm longer between back of bearing and back of flange.

Just taken some pics. If they are not EH can someone recognise them.

Weddo, just measured an EH axle. 27 & 7/16" from the end of spline to front face of flange. 1 & 7/8" from back face of flange to front face of bearing.

Thanks Colin,

Spot on, I pick up one today.  I'll save the other ones to use when I need a real wide track and big flared guards.!!
