Hi.  I recently fitted new door belts to the doors of my FC.  While doing so I found that the gaps at the top of the doors varied in width by a few millimeters from each other.  As a result of this the gap between the door belts on two of the doors have made the glass reasonably stiff to wind up.  They are clipped fully home, no excess paint behind the clips and the glass slides easily in the bailey channels without the door belt in.  I am using Rare Spares door belt Part # RDB1013 (this the front one) with a date of 14/09/07 on it.

Has anybody experienced this problem and how do you overcome it?  Two of the doors are really good.  Thanks

Hi Keith,

Maybe try some "Dryglide" spray on the door belt.

The dryglide might help until the door belt wera in a bit. I would also suggest that you need to gently ease the top of the door frame apart to get a better clearance. This is ultimately the best solution but also difficult if you have fresh new paint. You could also try hammering the felt section of the door belt flatter so that their is more clearance

I have successfully eased opened the tops of the doors with out any damage to paint or panel by using a door pouch that locksmiths use looks like a lumber bag that goes in seats Huh Huh easier just search this ebay item you will get what I mean ...........FC427.......

I used a very large flat scewdriver between the door belts to (prise) widen the gap. As the others suggest don't go crazy or you'll damage paint like I did. The flocking on the belts will in time flatten a bit and give you more room. This was not an easy job. Moe`t
