Was invited out to a farm a few hours from Perth today to look at a few cars for sale

The cars were driven/towed there 4 years ago in good nick...he has a large shed they would have fitted in ...but left them in the weather instead...shame as they have had a lot of water in them over the last few years

This FE was at the end of the line

Put an offer on the FE ,FJ,FX,and EK ute...just waiting for an answer

FE Details

FE-225-1039
TRIM  250-465
PAINT  207-17457
RPO  253- 17693

Chassis No.  6-2137

ENG L290728

Thanks Gary, very early FE indeed - my records would tend to suggest this is a Melbourne car rather than a Perth car, would that be right? You left out the last letter on the chassis number.

Dunno Ken

There was no letter on the plate or Chassis

However all but the HQ are melbourne built cars...not sure what the link is but I would go with Melbourne

Cheers

The body number is correct with no A after it - all the very early FE's were made in Adelaide and had no A after the body number. The missing M from the chassis number would be a mistake from the Melbourne plant though. An omission. Shocked

FE's are great when they've got a V8

Hey Scott,
I searched out your record and found the details - your car doesn'y have a letter either but is actually an Adelaide assembled car - its not unusual for the Adelaide factory to leave off the A at the end of both the body number and the chassis number, although yours has the A after the body number.
