Hi all

I am hoping someone can tell me from 1-10 whether these sills are above average or not. I would have thought so.

1 is really bad, 10 is new, 5 is average.

I went out to do a little work on the boot and ended up doing this? GO FIGURE!!!  Tongue

Anywhoo, opinions will be greatly accepted. A little bit going on at the front and a cool ole school braze repair at the centre, but apart that is good. Much better than the FE's, that is definitely a 0  Cheesy

No picture of the front shown, so since you say it has a little bit of rust at the front, there is repaired rust in the middle which is now rusting through again, and their is no rust at the rear (the dots appear to be spot welds ?) then I would give them a 5.

Sorry selected a wrong pic. The front is bouts twice as bad as rear. Just wanted to know roughly as I haven't seen many in build pages

I would replace the whole sill - You will find that they are far more rusted on the inside than the outside and that new rust will come out in a short time.

Your right I did what a mate said and got my heavy punch and sharply struck the small holes. They soon turned to big ones and there was lots of sand type material coming out  Cheesy

Would fopllow Ken's advice.

I have had both replaced and you also need to make sure the inner sills are OK as well.

Although the sills I replaced were about a 7 on your scale I decided I only wnat to do this once so I replaced both sides.

Thanks

It seems pointless to me to have gone this far with the stripping down only to make a such mess again in a few years time! I think what I will do is put more time into getting this one on the road first and the other one will just have to wait.
