Rosalyn and I travelled to Parkes on Saturday, and it rained all the from Penrith to Parkes, non stop, and cold, 6degrees in Orange, with the intension of spending a week with her family. While we were there we took the opportunity to enter the wagon in the Forbes Car show. The weather on the show day, Sunday 2 Oct was totally reverse to Saturday with us try to find shade. The cars at the show were extremely excellent and ranged from unfinished projects, farm machinery, Semi trailers, Hot rods ,vintage, classics and modern day cars. One very expensive 427 Monaro @ $166,000. This will apparently be an annual event.  Can''t put pics up yet, having a spot of bother with this thing.

 Grin

Sorry for the delay, here are the pics, from the Forbes car show.Again the quality of vehicles was excellent, even the farm machinery.

This came out from under a pepper tree

This is from Mcfeeters Museum.

The chev belongs to Rosalyn's cousin. He has only had it a couple of months.

The Monaro won everything on offer apart from peoples choice.

Wouldn't you like to go and get a load of wood in this. Peoples choice and one very tidy ute.

And this car came all the way from Penrith.

That Red truck came all the way from the central coast. It also took a fair share of the bootie, and it too was a very tidy unit. The family that own it drive it as an every day veh. This event also looks like it will be an annual thing.

Cheers Rusty

Hi Rusty
The red truck belonged to a friend of mine the late Burt Chalker. It was very well known around Mittagong. It was used as the Hill Top fire truck at times. Burt had it for many years as his only form of transport, he would be pleased. It now belongs to ( I think) his grandaughter and her husband.

Agree with your comments Pete

My neighbour is just about to start his new business in restoring vintage tractors. He has restored a couple of Lanz Bulldogs and they are a magic machine when you see them running and being driven. He also has a 69 Camaro Blown Big block. He shows both with lots of interest.

Cheers
