Light switch

FE; Most of my lights are now working (thanks GAZ) with the exception of the illuminating lights in the instrument panel. Indicator arrows are good as is the high beam red light.   Motor started on w-end for the first time. Sticky dissy points after a complete rebuild from a reputable rebuilder    ...that took my mate a bit to sort (thanks Ray).   However the switch that is in the instrument panel is 'not good' my learned friend says. Are these available ?  Your comments please.   Cheers Moe`t

If it's anything like the FB/EK light switch, it has a coiled spring rheostat (variable resister) that is used to dim the instrument lights. The coiled spring gets rusty over time, and the lights don't come on. Turn your headlights on, then turn the switch backwards and forwards until you find the sweet spot that the lights work.

Thanks RET & Fellas, Martins from SA indeed has produced a PHD prooved theorum on coiled spring rheostat (variable resister) dimmer switch trouble shooting and repair. Lights are on and ..... someones at home this time. Thanks again Moe`t
