Hi,

Looking for a number in qld for the chrome work for my ute. Also does anyone have a ballpark figure how much it might cost, basically getting everything re-chromed, grill, bumpers, overriders, handles tail lights etc etc. Any help appreciated

Paddy

I am currently getting a few bits done through Custom Chrome at Nerang on the Gold Coast.

Allan is on 07 5596 5553 Mobile: 0419 020 113.

See what he can offer. I am gettinga few small bits redone (horn ring, steering column clamp, panic strap mounts and grille surround) and he quoted $300 for the lot.

Cheers

Chroming has gotten really dear due to EPA rules - quality is everything in chrome and a cheap job on a car you want to keep for a long time will be disappointing in the long run. I would expect you would be looking at around $2000.

Hi Paddy.  I have had the majority of the chrome done on the northern end of the Gold Coast by Gold Coast Electroplating at 13/671 Pine Ridge Road, Biggera Waters.  The person to contact at that firm is Kevin Harnell.  He had been around the trade for a long time.  The quality of his work is excellent and I found the price quite reasonable.

Paddy,

That is a fair price, can you check the quality of their work?

That sounds more than reasonable if they do a decent job.   dave
