I have read myself cross eyed, so will ask. I am going to fit a hr front with 2" drop spindles, HQ stubs and discs drilled to early holden stud pattern. Also has rear mounted rack. My Q's are will this change ackermans angle and cause bump steer? or any other associated problems so make answers as detailed and understandable as possible? thank you in advance. fred

The stubs are fine Grin Grin but don't think you will be able to retain 13" wheel if that"s what you are wanting to do by redrilling to early pattern Huh 14'' will be OK  ....the rack location will be the factor as to which steering arms you will use to get ackerman correct, also you will have to take in to account the location of the steering arms on the stubs as some dropped stubs I have seen have two sets of holes for the steering arms if you get the rack arms within a couple of degree from the vertical plane, bump steer should not be a problem ....FC427.....

Hi Fred your drop spindles are your stubs so these will replace your hq stubs.

I would suggest just running HK HT HG discs and callipers as HQ re drilled seems pretty pointless i know they are bigger but you will have to run bigger rims and if its just a streeter just use KTG to keep the old holden pattern...

What rear mount rack you gunna run ? narrowed commodore is the norm ...

It does change it to some degree but it should be fine as you arent actually changing geometry its just the stub that sits higher.

I absolutely agree, if you are using drop stubs and want to retain early Holden pattern, use HR steering arms and the HK-HG discs and calipers. Much cheaper. But it will depend on your engineer - The only reason I can see for using a rack is if you are running other than a grey or red six which means that the HK-HG brakes may not be enough to keep your engineer happy. HQ is usual minimum for a V6 or V8 (in Vic)
