In the paint codes on the compliance plate, all I can find are #4 which is black.
#258 Black over Cape Ivory
#259 Cape Ivory over Black
#299 India Ivory over Black
#300 Black over India Ivory.
Unless you want the paint formula which is really no good these days because the Balm paints "DUCO" formulas are not able to be replicated by that formula. The best way is to have panel shop match original colour off the car if possible with new paint types
I have only one other bit of paint info which is GMH Automotive Colours for 1957
Holden Standard Saloon- Black  ----DUCO LAQUER ---#253-6258---B.A.L.M touch-up Ref. No.  286-2222
Just some bits of info from some loose pages I have.

Cheers Stewy   Cool

It's the BALM paint number that you need. Dulux-PPG Technical Customer Service are able to give you a modern (acrylic or two-pack) equivalent if you can give them this number and the year.

The other codes just identify the colour combination. See this page in Tech Info for more.

cheers

My Black FE has the following paint code:
253/6253AP

I tried typing that into the id plate cgi and sparks started coming out of my computer. Obviously a bit of a strange one....
Just like my trim 47477.....Bizarre....

Black is 253/6258. The threes do look like eights

The trim number is 4/477 AP. The hand stamped Sydney plates are very hard to read sometimes and the AP is quite often just thrown on the end of the plate somewhere.
