My bonnet cabel has snapped, anyone with some no how, need to know how i can get the bonnet open??
any help would be great,

Push the catch using a screw driver up through the grille.
at least that's how I did it.. but my grille was different to std.

thanks guys got it open, Just put the new cable on From rare spares and on first pull the handle snapped off, Not happy.

They all do that  Take it back and the next one will just do the same thing Superglue or 5 min Araldite it back on, ensure the cable has some lubrication, that its routed correctly, and that the bonnet catch is adjusted right. Should be OK. |

Did the same with a couple of my cables so I drilled a very small hole and put a pin through.

"Please explain" to quote a political person. I have not experienced a broken cable. Where do they snap? I would like a bit better explanation as to the repair. If this repair was done before breaking would this be a preventative measure?

My mate was sick of this happening to his FC so he asked me to fabricate a bracket underneath the housing ,all you do is push a leaver and its open but you loose out on security i can put up pics if any one is interested

Keith half the time the brass stopper comes loose and falls off and you cannot open it.
Havent had any actually break.

The new cables have a habit of the knob parting company with the shaft, hence the pin insert, or as fchoon has said the brass stopper either comes off or the cable fatigues in this area and breaks.
I have used a large flat screwdriver and some protective cloth to prise open the bonett when this has happened
