Not all Taxi Rails are set at the same angle/position in relation to front seat, I have both from genuine FE 217 build cars.
56 FE Taxi Rail (for Sydney Build) is different to 57 FE Taxi Rail (for Melbourne Build)

As in my PM, the taxi industry had no regulations at that time, on this particular area so the owner drivers used to do what they want and many didnt have them only signage.

Geoff is correct, maybe because of the height the seat is set at, ie spacers or no spacers, could also relate to the seats being slightly different in Specials & Standards

There is also a difference in the shape of the mounting plates, although this could be a difference between models, say FE-FC / FB -EK, the FB - EK rail is a higher rake, although should fit with a little massaging

It's the same with a lot of accessories, there are more than 2 types of genuine looking sunvisors, I have at least 2 with different lenghth centre spars

Can any body tell me more about these, or post a pic.

I have my own business and I have an amazing stainless steel fabricator working for me. I would assume the originals where chromed, but I can reproduce one in polished stainless if I have a model to work from.

If you have joined the forum as a member there are pictures of these in the "accessories" section. It's number 145.
