how come when im removing the front guards, the left has a black metal thing with grooves in it and the right side doesnt have this at all. like some sort of gutter.

I know this one !!   Because I asked the same question. Its to keep water off the regulator on the LHS inner guard.   Dave

i sound excited to have got in early on this one lol.  Grin

i thought i was missing somethjing but did think it may have had something to do with it, but thought they would have done something on other side if it was to stop rubbing etc.
