I am thinking the taxi might be driveable by say, september this year but not completed to what i want obviously, so any ideas what is on from melbourne to adelaide after this date so i can have something to aspite to, like not some bloody thing where it has to be a show car or anything though.

A reminder of Grey Pride on Sunday 15 May 2011.  Here is a link to the flyer.  http://oldgmh.wordpress.com/

For those leaving from Canberra, the meeting point will not be as shown on the flyer because the Shell servo is now a hole in the ground.  We will meet at the servo on the roadabout at Federal Highway and Antill Street Watson instead.

See you there (assuming my replacement muffler arrives in time - what is it about Grey Pride that my car feels the need to play up every alternate year?)

Cheers

Thank you to everyone that displayed their cars at the 2011 Grey Pride Run.  My wife and I had a wonderful day viewing the craftsmanship and ingenuity that went into ensuring that these early model Aussie icons are kept alive................ well done to all.

Whilst my wife was very interested in the red FJ and X's we were most impressed with the FC Ambo and the immaculate 59 two tone green FC owned I think by John Constable aka Maco who was most obliging in opening the car door so we could not only see the authenticity of it but also experience the fragrance of an original FC.

I hope that one day soon we can also join you with our own albeit slowly being restored FC.

Once again, thank you

Cheers Wayne

This years run to Berrima saw 126 early Holdens out for a cruise in the beautiful Autumn sunshine. On arrival, the Holdens from many clubs within Sydney and Canberra are displayed in the parklands amongst the trees. The run is a great opportunity to catch up with fellow enthusiasts from the other clubs, as well as the other states. (This year saw a couple of participants from Victoria)

Many more pics can be found in my photoalbum here:

Here is one of the Victorian cars that made the trip,

I travelled over 900klms to go to and from this show, and it was worth every one of them. It had everything, great cars, great weather and most of all EXCEPTIONAL COMPANY. It was so good to reacquaint friendships with so many top people from both Sydney and Canberra, or NSW and ACT, whichever way you want to look at it.
Thanks to both Graham and Kathy Pryce for your warm hospitality, you two are Gold, and to all the people involved in  organising the day.
For those who haven't been before, as Molly Meldrum would say, do yourself a favour and go for a drive, it is actually fun cruising on a long trip in an FC.
Cheers everyone

It already is. Grey Pride is a part of the National Motoring Heritage Day. Whether on purpose or by accident.

Colin.

BTW, great pic Alex, you hid the dirt!
