was going to put a 350 chev in her but i have found out it would not be legal in Qld so i am going to use my Rb30 instead and look at putting a rb25 head on the rb30 block and turbo it. I will be doing all the work myself except for the retriming of the seats and door trims. I am going to start stripping it down in the morning.

Good to see that you are getting your teeth into it. I can see why you want to go the route of fabricating a new chassis, there is certainly a fair bit of tin worm in there. Keep us posted on your progress Good luck with it Keith

i have pulled all the interior out and cleaned up whats left, wich is very little metal and all rust. by the time i cut out all the rust the will be No floor, No sills, half a front subframe, even half the rear left door will be missing. I have desided it is too far gone to just fix the rust and modify but i will have to re fabicate and reengineer the car as a hot rod. i will buy new outter skins for the sills and doors that need replacing. and i will be fabricating my own inner sills and chassis kit to fit a new sheet metal floor (keeping the original bench seat mounts to refit the benchy. I will be shortening a commodore diff from a vn to vs which i am still looking for a full doner car to buy. Will use the same brakes and hubs on the front from the doner car and make my own hot rod style front and rear end. running airbags all round and lowering the body 50mm over the standard suspension height so once bags are lowered the sill will be as low to the ground as possible (if not on the deck). i have realist that while i will be going as refabing the chassis and suspension i might as well go the whole hog and do the V8 instead of the Rb30. i will deside later if i use the 350 chev or twin turbo my 253. but it will now be V8 not a street 6. i will find a less rust old holden for the street 6 rb30 motor and make it a daily driver. missus wants an EH

sounds like yer gunna be very busy. may as well make a full chassis as u want to and go full fibreglass panels make it a light v8 runner for the strip! I wouldn't bother twin turbo'ing a 253 though, i may as well turbo the rb30 and it would shit all over the 253 for durability

Floor , fuel tank, handbrake , wiring etc. This is a link to Pedo's build and can give you some idea's of what is possible. Hopefuuly the page will take you to the floor replacement. http://fefcholden.org.au/forum/index.php/topic,13258.180.htmlIt is 30 odd pages but well worth a read. Rgds Wayne

i had a play around with the two wagons on the weekend and has desided to use the whole commodore car and fit my FC to the commodore. the only mod plate i will need is for the front bench seat when i remove the buckets.

I reckon it looks good as it is, bit of bog to fix the panel gaps and she'll be sweet!

this will be interesting!
I reckon blend the rear of the commo guards into the FC guards and get the wheel sitting centred in the FC guard to start.
keep us updated
Cheers
