Mick,
I am sure they race at Gouburn, although Colt (Colin) has an EH that he races. I am sure that Colt will be able to answer you better. It would be fantastic to see these old girls in full war cry again. I must go and watch them also.

Next Appendix J meeting in NSW is at Goulburn on the 11-12 Feb next year. We had our last meeting at Eastern Creek this weekend just gone. You usually only get one grey powered car, if you're lucky. There are more greys that race regularly in Vic and Tassie. Colin.

Got the new plates (OURFC) in the mail last week and finally got the car registered. Had a rear section of exhaust made(quick release), and had to put on air cleaners to comply. Now we can start having some fun regards Weddo

Hi Neil, Long time between conversations - good to see you are still above ground The new car is a blast, we had it around Symonds Plains circuit a couple of weeks ago and I'm verry verry pleased with the performance. I think we will be going the Repco headed motor in Judi's. It will be a pity to change the motor you built, but it is cheaper than building another car (running out of room) The head is going to a head specialist to have a tidy up next week, and I have been doing some planning with a local Hot Grey Wizard about the bottom end. You haven't got a steel crank hanging around in your workshop have you Neil? HAS ANY ONE GOT A STEEL CRANK TO SELL. Hoping to have every thing running for the WA Nationals so iv'e got twelve months, mmm I think that will go by quickly. How are you going with that rod you were going to build, or have you another project. Good to hear are still about and dodging around the forum. regards Weddo

Weddo,
If you are putting a "Hot" grey into Judi's car as you stated previously, then any crank will do, as all Grey Motor cranks are steel cranks.
If you are looking for a red motor crank, the part number is 7420005 for the steel crank (other than a 202 crank)

What I did mean was a steel billet crank not a drop forged steel crank. Testing the water - may have to get one made. I intend to do the motor properly to entertain the 200+ horsepower it may produce even though it may never see them used.

Weddo, Steel billet for a Grey, Yeehah. If you are going to go to that extent, don't forget to have a set of steel Bearing caps made for the two centre journals. They are far superior than the aftermarket bearing bridges in preventing cap stretch and crank flex. If you are chasing 200 HP than you will need a Compression Ration of around 12:1. The crank will need all the help that you can give it. Oh, and a repco Cross flow head or better will also help Keith

G'day Bill Yep I'm still above ground, the motor in the Judy's FC is a good one but a Repco headed grey motor is something super special, if I had one I would have done the same, it should have some real go in it. I remember and FJ getting around here when I was akid and it had a Repco head on it, there wasn't too mutch that could catch it and it sounded really nice.I opted out of the roadster hot rod project as it wasn't going to be practical, I have bought a 47 Ford Pilot fitted a 302 winsor, and C-10 and dana rear end. HR front is going in soon with discs all round, finish the brakes, suspension and steering then start on the body. Should be going this time next year, in the meantime I still have the AMC to cruise in. If you pass this way on your way to the WA nationals you'll have to call by and show me the car. Cheers Neil

Hi Garry, I run NKG BP 5F plugs, and run a billet distributer made by Scorpion Ignition developments with points. There are a few local grey powered race cares that are running electronic ignition.
