Hi Guys

Does anyone have the GMH colour codes for Grey Motor Grey and also the engine bay colour (which I believe is a very dark grey, not black ?? ).

Also, is the dash colour the same as the engine bay ?? Anyone know ??

Thanks in advance

Steve

Hi Steve
Came across this paint code some time back
Dulux Autocolour
393-10367
Holden Engine Grey GMH

My engine bay was originally done in body colour, but I've seen lots with black skirts.

Dashes are done in body colour.
Hope this helps
Cheers
Tony.

The colour of the engine bay depends upon what factory the car was built in, IIRC.  Sydney FCs have a body colour engine bay, but I believe other factories may have done it differently, and FEs may have been different to FCs.  Ken prob knows for sure.

I'm presuming your asking about dash colours because you have an FC?  FE dash top was body colour.  The flat grey colour (not same as engine bay) was introduced in FC to reduce glare, supposedly.  Sorry I don't have a paint colour for that.

cheers

Hi guys,
The dash in FranCine is red,to match "Riff red and Black".
Dont think this is original though. And someone painted
her grey motor.A few people thought it was a red motor Roll Eyes.

I am just about to repaint the Poo Mobile dash top in the "original" colour. My brother is a spraypainter and will be mixing an acrylic version matched from a sample taken from under the ashtray lid (not faded or worn).

I'll post the formula in the next few days if that helps.

cheers,

Craig.

Did you end up getting that paint mix Craig?  I'd be keen to get the mix details, although I'm assuming it will be the same for 58 FE's and FC's not like the poo mobile colours??

Cat,

Sorry I've been busy sanding off paint rather than worried about putting it back on. As usual I thought it was all going to happen quicker than it has :-/

Anyway the dash top is being painted tomorrow so I'll have an answer then.

Cheers,

Craig.
