It has been over 2 years since I last posted anything?Huh But I have been busy!!!!!!

The FC is a late Adelaide production car - In the 60's someone added a 179 and EH running gear with a floor shifter and International truck quad headlights (guards were swapped for standard ones)

Given I have never done this type of work before I'm pleased with how it's coming along?

The car with the rust cut out





My first go at welding



And then the body work (wax on wax off - about 50 times!!) Had to cut out the rear lower quarter panel and weld in one from a donor car.











Then the suspension rebuilds







Finishing the body







Inside started - car will be black with a white flash.



The engine and gearbox have been completely rebuilt ($$$$$) with some tricks?





Need to finish off the fuel system, electrical and then it's off to paint and trim.

Looking good, I love those side-plates on the motor.

I recall you had the quad light car.
It looks like you have been very busy!

The car in the background is a 1956 Ford Zephyr six. I'm not strictly just a Holden man - I love cars from the 50's whether they be Fords, Holdens or Vaxhauls! I have fond memories as a kid of all the cars in neighbourhood and what the 'youth' of the day were doing to 'hot' them up. So I guess I'm trying to bring back some of my younger years?

The Zephyr was last on the road in 1979 and has been in a shed since with 80,000 miles on the clock - it's all original except for those big wheels stuffed under the guards and it has been lowered a couple of inches as well. Haven't really made up mind yet what to do with it - just a well - we all know the trap of having too many projects on the go at once?

Had a big weekend on the car:-

- Repaired the fuel tank and painted it
- Had the extractors re-worked to fit around the rear engine mounts
- Had a 21/4 inch exhaust system fitted
- With twin outlets
- Started fitting all the hardware to the engine
- Next weekend its fit the tank, fuel lines, vacuum lines and heater pipes.
- Finish off the wiring for the motor

And

- turn the key?HuhHuhHuhHuhHuh

             that tank is the one I got from you - I put a KBS tank sealing kit through it, fixed a few dents and there it is.

Hi Wayne,
              the rear sway bar is an original Kmac which was never fitted to a car. It had an orange plastic coating which was cracking so I removed it and painted it.

I have some 'period' coils to go over the shocks as well which I will clean and paint the same colour and fit.

With the reset leaf springs, sway bar, gas shockers and coils to be fitted - I guess I'll feel it when I run over a match?Huh

Wasim,

That's a very nice job for someone who hasn't done this before. Congratulations on a fine job. Did you do any mods to the under side, like put in a chassis kit. Hope my ute turns out as nice. Well done again.

Hi Rusty,
            no chassis kit - my days of 180 degree power slides and huge wheelies are well and truely over. The engine will be lucky to 4,000 rpm with me behind the wheel.

Hi Keith,
           because the car is a very late production car it has 21/4 inch wide leaf springs (fb - hr) - the insulator retainer plates on the car were very badly cracked and rusted - so when to the wreckers and got some 'better' ones off an FC but when I tried them they were too small - hence I got some FB ones - so the insulators are ones that will fit the 21/4 inch spring. The diff is EH 3.55.
