Hi Jack,
the side plate brand is 'INDY'. From what I can gather they are 'old school' (genuine) from the 60's / early 70's. I was very lucky to get them - the gentleman who rebuilt my engine had a friend who had these plates in his shed for some years. I don't think they have ever been fitted to an engine as we had the modify them slightly to fit around the dip stick.
Got to have have good fortune now and then.

Haven't done much in the last 3 weeks due to conferences, afl grand final Mk 1 and a school reunion - but I made up for it this weekend. Finished off the wiring (rough in) for the engine and it started first go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! purrs like a kitten and sounds great On start up these were the readings  Decided to start putting the dash together a bit more to see what it will look like when completed - pretty happy with it so far?   I mounted an EH heater slide control vertically so the heater control slides between the vertical bars in the speaker grill and added a fan switch above - all works well and looks neat?  Wasim |

I keep saying to myself that one day I'd like to try a full resto and see how I go. Problem is no skill, no nerve and no experience. Then I look at what you have done and think, yeah definitely not 'cos no way could I do something as nice or as good as that. You gotta be proud of yourself - haven't you? P. |

An up-date After 3 and half years (mostly weekends) I have gone as far as I can - the car is now at the painters! This is the car just before going to the painters yesterday (before and after)   The engine bay (before and after)   The boot (before and after)   I mounted a 2 speed electric (cable) wiper under the dash between the glovebox and bulkhead. Also added courtesy lights in the rear pillars.   The front guards are all ready paint (a lot of work here to get them straight and rust free - the drivers side was an FE guard). Added the FB starts to the rear wheel spats - vertical   Next pictures will be off the car all painted in Mazda 6 pearl black and a pearl white flash down the sides. Interior is being re-trimmed as well - following the original patterns - seats will be black with tuck and roll pleats and white tops (embossed) - door trim will be similar. Also picked up a new laminated front screen which is tinted light green - like a 50's car? Wasim |

Can't wait til it is finished. You have given me so dash colour scheme ideas, may do red where u have white inside my black and white taxi, Now u got me thinking black and white interior would look nice also. Are you a port adelaide fan lol.

Good to see your thinking of strategy more than my team Port Power are at the moment.  , your ide should be sweet, Im going to try and do a UC diff setup and utilyse sway bars at rear somehow etc. |

Wasim, great stuff mate. It must be getting close to when you can move over to the "Members Cars " Section.
Again well done and looking forward to the final photo's in a couple of weeks. No pressure though, I know how long this stuff takes.
