Been playing with this for a while.Plans are for an early style custom, lowered, drum brakes, twin carbs, extractors, steel wheels, floor shift crash box, acrylic paint with scallops etc.
As purchased

after usual rust repairs and dechroming

frenched taillights

frenched plate recess

tight work area

accessories

Will post more pics as work progresses.Everything is primed and almost ready for sanding.
Still have to french headlights.
Rear number plate attaches using a hinge on left side and filler cap will sit in a recessed s/steel fitting in the hole shown in above pic.

Always nice to see another custom FE FC on the road, looks like you have made a great start.
Some cool mods going on.
I made the same mods to my taillight housings.
Looking forward to see that plate set up complete.
What plans for the grill?

Great to see another projet into full swing.

Lots of work already done and the clean lines and straight panels look like its going to be great car.

Looks like you have an additction to toys in your shed.  Is that a CBR600 in the lower right corner.

Great to see the pics.  Nice work

Mocked up number plate today

It is attached using a hinge and covers a stainless recess plate that I removed a chromed fuel flap from.I modified the stainless plate to fit an original rubber grommet, so here it is with an original fuel cap

Had to remove the mount for the bootlid catch so I could attach part of the original body metal (from where the stock fuel cap was)to the inside of the frenched plate in order to mount the stainless recess plate, phew! Then reattached mount.Have also drilled holes to mount a strip of 3 leds above number plate.

Nice progress.
So white is the colour of choice.
Will it be all white or have a contrast colour somewhere?

The wheels are a set of HR ones I had lying around which I hit with rattle can paint and put on my ute for the All Holden day about 4 years ago!

I'll try to keep photos coming, not real good with the camera it usually goes on holidays with me-for the ride only!

I have bought a set of 5 seatbelts from CIP1, a US VW supplier.Landed cost around $300. They are grey and have chromed metal buckles. I think I will install plates in b pillars but not put the belts in till after rego because they don' have ADR compliance. I still think non complying belts sensibly installed by me would be better than none!

Nice work ekute,

Was the bonnet already fluted or did you get it done? And by whom?

Keep up the great work!

Cheers

If you haven't grown up by 50, you don't have to.
