Hi all,
There maybe a simple answer to this question.
Is there a simple conversion from globes to LEDS readily available anywhere?
There are a couple of cluey guys on the FB-EK forum developing a conversion to suit FB EK sedans and wagons, but not the FE-FC style of tail light.
Cheers,

My only thought is "Why bother?" - if it ain't broke don't fix it. Do you need to sort out problems or is it the look and brightness of the lights you want?

The International FE FC Fleet of Ireland Education is where you read the fine print. Experience is what you get when you don't.

That's what I'm after, Craig. Where did you find that image?
Paul, the car is slowly being rewired (when time permits) so I'm playing around with different ideas.

See http://www.brightlightautoparts.com/index.htmlIf you replace the indicator globes you need to replace the flasher relay with a non load sensitive relay. Cheers

If you replace the indicator globes you need to replace the flasher relay with a non load sensitive relay. Thanks for the heads up - I neglected to consider that. I'll look into the LED option - It would be pretty interesting, I reckon. Ol_Girl_58

I tried some LED "globes" from Jaycar, but found them too dim, and not really visible from any angle except straight on. The difference between brake light and rear light was barely visible.
these ones look better though.
Some new cars have rear LED lights that are so intense it hurts to look at.
I like globes, once every new car has LED's I will miss globes.
Cheers

Ditto what Ed said about the Jaycar ones. I tried them for rear blinkers so I didn't need coloured lenses and really had to force them into the housing so have just gone with orange globes and they do just nice

I bought some from Hong Kong on ebay, $12.95 for 10 plus $10.00 postage I also got a few other bulbs in there as well all up I got 16 bulbs for 30.00, $2.00 per led bulb, much cheaper than what that bloke is selling them for. Keith

Hello, I brought some halogen headlight bulbs for my stock FC Lucas headlights from this site http://www.classicandvintagebulbs.com/page11.html They worked a treat and they also have LED lamps as well. Cheers, Jack

Hi,I can also vouch for Anthony, he also has the bosch headlight globes that work a treat. Even better is that his daughter help restore her grandfathers FE sedan which she was going to use as a daily driver. Cheers Stewy

I'd like to change my dash lights to blue or red...does anyone know the globe type (number or code) that I should be using as a reference when looking for the LED substitute?
