When I removed my front doors I drilled an 1/8" hole through the centre of each hinge then removed the bolts. I found it quite easy to realign the doors back to the original position and then fine tune the position from there. On the rear doors I removed the bolts and left the hinges on the body. No adjustment required on these as the gapping was good to start with.

Just a question, do the doors need to come off ? can the seals be installed while the door is still on, even if it's fiddley can it be done without a huge drama ?? or there's no way... the doors come off !!
cheers

Excellent thread, just thought I'd add this Youtube clip of a door seal installation on a humpy by the team at RSP - the same principles apply. Just as a side note, the recommended Loctite (424) is also available in gel form, much easier and more accurate to place than the standard product .... Doors MUST come off Cheers Doug

The gentleman painting my vehicle was replacing my door rubbers on my ute and he had a rubber on the door as well as the channel. Is this correct or only needed on the inner channel.
thanks

This is a job I'll be tackling soon. The rubbers on my car are glued in with a brown glue. It looks and feels like Stag. Not hard cured. What are thoughts on using Stag.
Cheers Mark

It has some advantages in that it is a very thin application and it is colourless, so any misapplication doesn't show. It's also super sticky once it is pressed together. Ken
