Last Sunday saw the ACT Transport retirees hold an open day where they had a lot of their memorabilia on display. In addition to this they invited members of the Veteran and Vintage Car Club of the ACT along to display some of their cars to further attract people to the display.

There were about 15 Vintage and Veteran cars that turmned up. I bought the oldest bus that ACTION still has, a 1949 AEC 1/2 cab along to assist with the display. I have included some photo's of the cars below for those that may be interested.

hey Keith, if you dont manage to get the FC ready for Orange, how about bringing the delightful Matilda?

You'd have the old girl chokka with grinning passengers every day!

It would be a long trip to Orange... Matilda has a top speed of 30 mph (50kmh)

It was funny, and I would rather drive my FC than old Matilda, Matilda doesnt have too many creature comforts, rides pretty hard unless it is full of passengers and doesnt really have enough power to pull skin off the proverbial custard. Cheesy

haha - you crack me up Kathi... how true!!!

Mind you I wouldn't make it to Orange in Matilda, beautiful old girl, but geez the ride's a bit rough, gave me a good laugh watching Keith trying to find the gears in her though. Considering how old she is and that it's been about 6 years since he last drove her I actually think he did remarkably well!!!

We had a great day and the kids had an awesome time going for a drive in her. Jack was beside himself with excitement. At the end of the day Keith offered to take those still there for a ride around the block. Well we had a full bus in 5 seconds flat, mostly old folk, and you should have seen them... couldn't get the smiles off their face. It was priceless.  Cheesy Cheesy
