how do you tell if they are genuine nasco or a repro

Bit difficult for a novice, but genuine are thicker metal and consequently stronger. The repros always have a lever action retainer. The genuine ones mostly have a spring retainer clip, although some did have the lever action. A genuine one would look worn and scuffed on the inside from decades of use.
