Can anyone tell me?  Is the bracket which holds the alternator and A/C compressor on a blue or black or late red motor the same piece? That is one big bracket that holds both?

If so, how does it bolt to the motor?

I broke the retaining bolt on my alternator bracket on my racer at the water pump. I am hoping this bracket bolts at a couple of spots so as to spread the load.

Thanks.

Colin.

Colin Blue & Black engines are usually mounted of the head on the drivers side the after market ones that are mounted on the passenger side pick up the alternator bolts as well as another bolt [the blue , black have a different casting on the block ] which gives an extra mounting point  so not much good ...The HQ HZ have the air conditioner  mount that again picks up the standard alternator mount then usually pick up the earth lead hole in the top of the head  and some are supported also  from the thermostate housing bolts with a spacer , however there are some variations to this.... your best source for one is from a Toyota with the Starfire 4 ....Hope this helps ....FC427......

My LJ torrie had a/c setup.  Since its a red motor I used the A/C & Alternator bracket from a VB commodore (red motor).

The top mount goes to the water pump.  Down below it bolts to the motor in 2 spots (3 total).  Alternator sits on top, compressor below.

Hope this helps.

Cheers

Thanks for that guys. I just happen to know a guy ripping out a starfire. I'll have a look at that.
